Colonial Bird Bottle with Bluebird |
Description
For insect control, 18th century colonists placed bird bottles under the eaves of their houses to provide nest sites for birds. Our handmade pottery bird bottles are inspired by those found at Colonial Williamsburg and have a bird-friendly design. Features include a roomy nesting cavity, entry hole sized to attract birds and disuade predators, tab to hold a twig perch, and drainage for the safety of the nestlings. The 4 inch base mounts easily on a screw or nail in a wall or post. Mounting instructions are included. The dimensions are 8 inches long x 6.5 inches wide, with a 2 inch entry hole, and 4 inch base.
